Porcelain Veneers

Natural-Looking Veneers for a Bright, Beautiful Smile

Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain facings that are bonded to the front of teeth to change their size, shape and/or color. They can also be used to close a gap between teeth or make mildly crooked teeth appear straight. If you are unhappy with the look of your smile, porcelain veneers may be the solution you are looking for.

Our Porcelain Veneers Procedure

Smile consultation

During your initial consultation, the doctor will listen closely to your goals and concerns. He will get an exact understanding of what you want to achieve and answer all of your questions. Your exact treatment plan will be formulated at this point.

Designing your new smile

Doctor taking photo of patient's smile

We will take digital photos of your teeth, face and smile in order to design your veneers.

To create your veneers, the doctor will take digital photos of your teeth, face and smile. He will also obtain an impression of your teeth using a digital impression scanner. From these images, he will design the exact shape and contours of your veneers on our lab’s digital design software.

If needed, the doctor will have our ceramist sit down with you and determine the exact shade of your veneers. The doctor will also have our ceramist create a wax model of your teeth, displaying your veneers as they will look in your new smile.

Approval of design

The doctor will show you the wax model of your teeth or a digital display of how your veneers will look in your smile. He will consult with you and make any adjustments required to reach 100 percent satisfaction.

Gentle preparation of teeth and aesthetic temporaries

The doctor prepares your teeth by gently removing a thin layer of tooth surface. This creates a strong bonding surface for the veneers and compensates for the minor added thickness the veneer will add to the tooth.

The doctor then creates and places functional and aesthetic temporary veneers, ensuring they are the exact shape and contour that was approved earlier. The doctor will obtain your approval of the temporary veneers as they look in your smile. Another digital impression will be taken with the temporary veneers in place. These digital impressions will be used to fabricate your final veneers.

Final placement

Your final veneers will be bonded to your teeth, giving you an aesthetic and natural-looking new smile.

When your final veneers are ready, you will return to our office for final placement. After removing your temporary veneers, the doctor will place your finals on using a “try-in” paste. At this point, you will be able to see how the veneers look before they’re bonded permanently. The doctor will make any needed adjustments to the shape or color, until you are completely satisfied.

Your final veneers will then be permanently bonded to your teeth, giving you an aesthetic and natural-looking new smile.

Cosmetic Bonding: Minimal-Preparation Chairside Veneers

Cosmetic BondingCosmetic bonding is a procedure that uses a tooth-colored resin to make minor cosmetic or structural corrections to teeth. Like porcelain veneers, bonding can be used to close gaps between teeth, repair chips and cracks, or cover an area of discoloration. In most cases, bonding can be an economical alternative to porcelain veneers.

Cosmetic bonding is done while you are in the chair, making it a faster procedure. Our doctor is an expert at using cosmetic bonding to provide a beautiful new look that can last decades.

Preserving tooth structure

Sometimes it is appropriate to conserve as much tooth structure as possible, and for this reason chairside veneers with cosmetic bonding can be a better alternative than porcelain veneers. Cosmetic bonding requires only minimal removal of surface enamel and, at the same time, can be used to replace missing tooth structure.

After a full consultation and exam, Dr. Rodriguez will let you know if cosmetic bonding is a good option for you.
