As a prosthodontist, Dr. Rodriguez is a specialists in creating high-quality, well-fitting dentures that are durable, comfortable and aesthetic. Unfortunately, no matter how well these dentures are made, traditional dentures have certain disadvantages. They move around and slip, make noises while you eat or speak and provide only about 15 percent of the chewing power of natural teeth.
Using dental implants, our doctor provides you with specially crafted dentures that can snap on and off. Dentures snapped onto implants are held stably in place and their chewing power is significantly increased. Implant-supported, snap-on dentures reduce or eliminate many of the problems caused by loose dentures.
Experienced Implant placement specialists partner with our doctors
Our doctor guides the entire procedure, partnering with experienced local specialists to place your implants. Your implant surgeon will be a proven and experienced periodontist or oral surgeon who also works as a teammate with our doctor in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Increased Stability and Chewing Power
When snapped onto your implants, your denture will be firmly retained in place. It will not slip or move around in your mouth and no messy adhesives will be required to keep it in position. You will be relieved of the sores and discomfort that result from unsupported dentures rubbing against your dental arch.
Your implant-supported dentures will provide close to 80 percent of the chewing power of natural teeth. You will be able to eat many of the foods you need and want without your denture coming loose or the chewing pressure hurting your gums.
Quality Dentures and Implant Placement
Our doctor and your implant surgeon use digital X-rays and a 3D CT scan of your jaw to plan the exact position of each implant that will support your new dentures. Dr. Rodriguez meticulously plans your implant placement and your new dentures so that the dentures come together in a proper bite alignment when worn. Correct bite alignment is vital for comfort, stability and optimum chewing power.
On the day of surgery, your specialist will place from two to four implants in the dental arch. You will immediately be given a functional and aesthetic temporary denture to wear. Your final denture will be custom-crafted when your implants have healed and are stable enough to support the added bite forces.
At the time your final denture is placed, the tops of the implants and the underside of the denture will be fitted with special attachments that allow the denture to snap firmly onto the implants. Your new denture can still be removed, when desired, for cleaning or other care.
Functional and Beautiful New Teeth
Dr. Rodriguez uses only the highest-grade acrylic materials for your dentures. The doctor takes great care to craft them so they are durable, well-fitting and aesthetic.
